The topic was \"Right to Lifelong Career Counselling for special groups: People with disabilities, refugees - migrants, mentally ill, prisoners - released from prison, elderly people, addicts - people in the process of rehabilitation and Roma\". It was organized by the Department of Counselling & Vocational Guidance (C.V.G.G.) of EOPPEP in the framework of the Euroguidance programme actions for the three-year period 2018-2020 and EPANODOS was there!

The return to the EEA-EEA: Challenges and positive examples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
EPANODOS Legal Entity of Private Law for the Reintegration of Released Persons, supervised by the Ministry of Citizen Protection, was there. The Director of the Organization, Ms. Fotini Milioni, talked with representatives of other institutions, answering questions, solving queries and, above all, networking the structure \"EPANODOS\" with other Organizations. The aim is to facilitate the social and employment reintegration of released prisoners.

Ms Irini Andrioti, Employment Counsellor at EPANODO, presented the organisation and the profile of its beneficiaries at the plenary round table at the beginning of the seminar. At 4:06:10 of the video plenary presentation you can hear about the challenges faced by the Employment Counsellor. During the reintegration process, parolees are challenged to adapt to a new reality by countering:<\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/path><\/svg>institutionalisation, a dark consequence\/consequence of confinement<\/span><\/div>
<\/path><\/svg>the potential stigma and prejudice.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
In order to effectively overcome these challenges, the Employment Reintegration Counsellor for Released Prisoners is appropriate:<\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/path><\/svg>operate within a strong framework, with a stable and reciprocal philosophy,<\/span><\/div>
<\/path><\/svg>have the support and cooperation of a multidisciplinary team to cover both themselves and the comprehensive and personalised care of each beneficiary,<\/span><\/div>
<\/path><\/svg>cultivate and develop much more than intervention tools and techniques. A \"healthy\" and effective Counsellor is required to be alert around the Self. Not to stop educating and growing, to be aware of HOW he\/she feels and to cultivate internal mechanisms that intercept his\/her own projections and needs.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
Ms Andrioti also referred to \"bright\" examples of released prisoners whose successful course is an inspiration, motivation and example for others to follow, such as:<\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/path><\/svg>the Joint Committee. New Horizons, with its more than five years of operation, which was founded in 2014 by 10 released prisoners and today employs more than 30,<\/span><\/div>
<\/path><\/svg>and several cases of Ladies and Gentlemen who started their studies, even in the detention centre, completed them on their way out, some even reached the postgraduate level, found a job, opened a business and generally changed their profile and role.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The return to EEAEP: Seminar for SY.E.P. consultants<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
During the two-day programme, Ms Andrioti coordinated three workshops, during which the participants Vocational Guidance Counsellors (VGCs).<\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/path><\/svg>deepened the value of work for this population group and the consequences of not working,<\/span><\/div>
<\/path><\/svg>reflected on the effects of institutionalisation and the parameters that influence and\/or shape it,<\/span><\/div>
<\/path><\/svg>were familiarized with the procedures of Vocational Development or Vocational Orientation of released prisoners, as well as with specific tools used.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
